
LORISSA SLAGLE – INSTRUCTOR
Lorissa Slagle started her ballet training at three years old studying under Sabrina Vaz at Massachusetts State Ballet, later known as Balletworks. Growing up she performed in various ballet productions such as Dracula, Cinderella, Firebird, Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Nutcracker. As a high school senior, she performed the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy. In 2016, Lorissa moved to Kansas City to continue her ballet training studying under Liz Dimmel at Dramatic Truth Ballet Theatre (DTBT) & School. She apprenticed with DTBTyou m w w , a professional neo-classical ballet company, for one year. Prior to that she studied under Robin Swick with Dramatic Truth Trainee Company. For two seasons Lorissa performed in DTBT’s adaptation of The Nutcracker, The Mystery of Christmas, performing the roles of a German Maiden, Angels, Arabian and Waltz of the Flowers, to name a few. Dance has taught Lorissa the value of hard work, discipline and perseverance. She believes dance is a universal language and through this art form it can offer both joy and healing. When she is not dancing, Lorissa enjoys working out, yoga, and spending time with family and friends. No matter where life takes her, it always brings Lorissa back to th m n w. W e ballet barre.
